The company was formed in 1958 by James Bruce who had a wealth of experience in the mineral extraction industry. Being primarily involved in the manufacture of specialised quarry plant, over the years the company has diversified into manufacturing plant and equipment for other industries such as cement, chemical, fertiliser and food.

For example, the company became the first in Ireland to manufacture eletro-magnetic vibrating feeders.
